Passengers Roping For But What?

Have you ever had a car or bus ride where you had to get down and push it to pull aside or jump start? Well, I’ve had one of those experiences in the past where we were told to get off the bus and push it to start the engine that suddenly turned off on its own. You stay behind the bus or car in a push-up position, hold your breath, and push the vehicle with all your might just like the picture below;)

Nepalese Around the Globe: Doha, Qatar (Part II)

Upon our arrival at the airport, I went to check with one of the airlines representatives for any possibility that we can change our flight to 8:55 am or 11 am next morning instead of 12:55 pm. We had 18:55 hours layover in the transit. A woman behind the counter responded instantaneously to my request and said that I would have to pay in order to … Continue reading Nepalese Around the Globe: Doha, Qatar (Part II)

Homebound Before Nepal Bound

The day that we were anxiously waiting was not that far when all this late drama unfolded. We were going to visit family in Nepal after six years but a bizarre incident almost jeopardized our entire plan. While playing soccer with my sons in the backyard, I fractured a metatarsal in my right foot. What initially seemed to be a normal sprain and bruise turned out … Continue reading Homebound Before Nepal Bound

Poor Grandparents Don’t Have Driveway!

Answering your child’s peculiar questions can be pretty daunting task sometimes. In the midst of our conversation the other day, I told my sons that once they go visit their grandparents in Nepal, they have to learn to live without power (electricity). They won’t see light most part of the day, as blackouts are quite frequent and have become a part of life. I showed my … Continue reading Poor Grandparents Don’t Have Driveway!

A Significant Gesture That Swelled Up A Father’s Heart

I woke up this morning with a heavily pounded head. Migraine is crippling me now and then. Standing straight definitely helped but lying down or inclining backwards or forwards did not help at all. Please do not tell me how it is like to have headache if you have not experienced a migraine ever. Only people with migraine can understand what we go through. Consequently, … Continue reading A Significant Gesture That Swelled Up A Father’s Heart

Scary Moments Staying Behind the Wheels During Tornado

Watching tornado chasers in television always enthused me. They seemed to be crazily adventurous people who drive after tornado and shot video clips putting their lives in danger. However, they have found joy and their purpose in their lives doing so. For me as a spectator, it never made complete sense of it. It still does not. Last night, we had an EF1 tornado that … Continue reading Scary Moments Staying Behind the Wheels During Tornado

English As a Third Language; Don’t Underestimate Anyone

I should have had this entry on 1st May, since something that I am writing now had happened on that day. It is the day my second child Saral was born three years ago. So it was his birthday, and we were planning to celebrate it in the evening. We had ordered a cake in Costco two days earlier. Pick up day was on the … Continue reading English As a Third Language; Don’t Underestimate Anyone

Changing Diapers Has Taught Me About This Love

As of today, I have changed thousands of diapers (nappies in Europe). This was unimaginable act for me until I became father for the first time. Changing diaper, especially, has taught me to reflect on how God has loved me thus far. At present, I need to change diapers only on my daughter, since she is just 7 months old. My two boys are well potty trained. … Continue reading Changing Diapers Has Taught Me About This Love

Martha: “I Do Not Understand Your Timing”

I kept lagging behind in posting particularly this one post. Few weeks ago, some youth from my church came to me and asked if I would preach on the death of Lazarus (John 11:1-44). They had composed a song and showed me the lyrics to play as a response song to the sermon. They even asked me to join them in the band. I had no reason to say “no” to their humble invitation to play my harmonica with them after listening to them singing. That was my first attempt to play any music instrument before the congregation. The Aftereffects of Fender Bender and Gratitude to My Maker

I am suffering from the aftereffects of a fender bender. That was the first time ever that I was liable for the accidents. Instead, I was in the receiving end. I am very grateful to my God that my son and I drove home unharmed that night. My SUV was also not damaged than expected. My son did not even know what happened that night. … Continue reading The Aftereffects of Fender Bender and Gratitude to My Maker
